Enrique is an affectionate, playful, and adventurous pug. He gets along with all humans, dogs, and cats in his current foster home. Going on walks and meeting new people are some of his favorite things in life. Whether he’s going to Home Depot, or the park, he attracts attention and welcomes it. Stuffed animals are one of his other favorite things, and he loves to walk around with them in his mouth. Enrique’s energy level is overall pretty calm, but he is still very playful and would enjoy another animal in the home, but he would also do fine as your one and only. Currently he will cuddle with both cats and dogs, and with the child in his foster home. He has been around children of all ages, and done great with them.
If there is any potential opportunity for Enrique to find food, he will. He is very quick and efficient at finding a snack or stray bite of food on the ground. He will also get into garbage cans, if he has access to them. His future family will need to be mindful of this, as he does need to stick to a special diet for urinary health.
Enrique does well traveling in the car and walking on the leash. He would make an excellent companion for someone who enjoys traveling with their pup. He’s highly adaptable to many environments and is rarely ever shy or nervous.
Enrique is overall a very healthy guy. He came to us when his urethra was blocked by sludge from his bladder. He had a special surgery to fix this and has been doing great. He will need a urinary diet for life. Enrique also has very narrow ear canals, we are not sure if this is from chronic ear infections or allergies, but his new owner will need to stay on top of this to make sure he stays a happy healthy boy! 🐾
