Pacific Pug Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2006. More than 100 volunteers dedicate themselves to running the organization, including a passionate board of directors, some of whom have been volunteering for us since the beginning. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome pugs and pug mixes in need, regardless of age, medical condition, or circumstance.
Our rescue efforts are focused mainly in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, with the occasional out-of-state or international rescue thrown in when resources allow! We’re passionate about caring for each dog we take in; meeting both their short-term needs and setting them up for a happy, healthy future. Before adoption, our dogs live with loving foster families who help them feel safe, cared for, and ready for their forever homes.
Every dog in our care receives full veterinary attention, including spay/neuter services, dental checks, vaccinations, and microchipping. Beyond rescuing and rehoming pugs, we’re dedicated to educating the community about the breed, its unique personality, common health concerns, and what it takes to care for one. We also work to raise awareness about the importance of reducing pet overpopulation through responsible pet ownership.
Our work would not be possible without our incredible team of volunteers. From opening their homes as fosters to transporting dogs, reviewing applications, organizing events, and so much more, they are the heart of our mission. We’re deeply grateful for every person who helps make rescue possible.
