Dexter found it pretty difficult to adjust to his new life after being surrendered at the age of 11, but he is slowly starting to settle in. He was quite anxious but now is calm and enjoys spending his day near your desk while you are working. He is not one to cuddle, but does enjoy being near.
Dexter is a bigger pug. He is tall and does not have a pug tail, so there may be a little something else mixed in there, but he is mostly pug! He still gets around great and does not have any mobility issues at all.
Dexter's favorite thing to do is sunbathe on the back deck and then explore the yard. He also really enjoys taking walks.
Dexter was not neutered when he came to us so he was a marker. Now he has been neutered we are hoping to see improvement with that, but otherwise he is potty trained.
He lives in harmony with other dogs, although he has not really been interested in them. Dexter had all his teeth removed before coming to us....so added bonus of not needing any expensive dentals in the future!!!!
If you are interested in giving a well behaved spry old gentleman a loving home reach out to us to meet Dexter!

Wero came to us from Tijuana, Mexico. He is a very calm boy for his age but he does have a silly side too. He likes to get in his beds and roll around and make funny noises. He has done well with the other dogs in the home, but has not seemed interested in playing with them. We were told he was bullied quite a bit by other dogs, so a home with calm kind dogs would suit him best.
Wero's potty training is still a work in progress so he will need a patient owner to make sure he gets out frequently. He was just neutered so hopefully that will help with the potty training.
Wero is an albino pug which means he is very sensitive to the sunlight. He will need to have a home with a yard that has some shade. Going for daily walks in the sun will not be something he can do.
When Wero gets in the sunlight, his eyes are so sensitive he essentially becomes blind. The sun can also damage his eyes and skin. There are doggy goggles and sunscreen you can invest in to keep him safe and comfortable for the times he does need to be out during sunny times. Coming to the Pacific Northwest has been a great option for him to help with this.
If you are a sun worshipper you probably will not be a good fit, but if you like to keep the shades pulled you may be a perfect match!

Ruby is a 10 yr old heartwarming, sassy little soul who has learned to feel the love rather than see it. Ruby is highly affectionate and loves to sit in your lap, but she will let you know when she wants to be independent. She thrives on routine and is great with voice commands.
She has some ongoing health needs that weren't managed properly in the past, so she needs a committed owner to stay up-to-date on veterinary care. She is blind and will need eye drops. She also shows some sensitive skin issues so making sure her cute little face folds are clean, baths and potential specialized food.
If you have a quiet home and a warm spot on the couch, Ruby is ready to fill your life with love!

Jack is an 11-year old pug mix (we think pug, chihuahua, and probably jack russell terrier) with the spirit of a much younger dog. He is also proof you can teach an old dog new tricks!
Jack is very playful and loves tug of war matches and determined games of fetch. He will thrive in a home where he is the star of the show and play is part of the routine so his energy has an outlet. He will need a lot of physical stimulation to keep him from being bored and bossy.
Jack learns commands and cues super quickly and is eager to please. He absolutely loves long walks all around the neighborhood and would love to be your exploring or hiking buddy. He is becoming very well behaved on the leash and in social situations. Consistency and patience will be key to boosting his comfort and confidence with you leading the way.
At home, Jack is most content staying close and be part of whatever you are doing. He wants you to feel his love at all times. Jack is not afraid to tell you what he wants. When he needs something, whether a trip outside to use the bathroom or a bit of play, he lets out a soft, hushed bark.
If you're looking for an active companion who is eager to please and loves learning new things, Jack might be the perfect match for you!

Alice and Franklin are a bonded pair that are very sweet! They are very energetic young pugs that would do great in an active family that has time to spend with them.
Franklin is a bit of a worrier and will bark when meeting new people or dogs, he is a sweetie, but a little cautious when things are new and he takes a bit to warm up. They have not spent a lot of time on leash and need to work on some leash manners. They have really enjoyed going for walks since coming to their foster home.
Alice enjoys playing fetch and bully sticks and she will sit for treats! She is very good with her potty training. Franklin will sit for treats and he does circles when he gets excited! Franklin is potty trained, but can be a marker so he wears a belly band in the house while we are working on training him. He loves to hear the prompt "outside" and is doing great with consistency.
Both pugs love to cuddle up on the couch with you at nighttime while you read or watch TV. They are crate trained and sleep together in their crate at night.
If you have room in your heart for two special pugs please reach out to learn more about Alice and Franklin!

Dear New Forever Family,
My name is Daisy, and I’m a 12-year-young lady a delightful mix of pug and something wonderfully fluffy. I didn’t expect to spend my golden years without a warm, cozy family to love me, but as we know, life happens. So I’m writing to let you know that I’m looking for a new forever home.
I’m very low-maintenance in fact, quite the opposite. I enjoy short walks, sunbathing, squeaky toys, soft beds, couch time (with a little help getting on and off), sleeping close to you, tummy rubs, and telling you stories throughout the day.
I’m house-trained, and I’m great with grooming, nail trimming (especially with a dremel), baths, and a good brushing when the seasons change - my gorgeous coat appreciates it!
Don’t let my playful energy fool you; I do love my naps during the day - what dog doesn’t? I take an arthritis medication, which helps keep me feeling spry and young at heart.
I’ve lived in homes with other dogs, but I really prefer to play on my own or hang out with my human family.
If you think your home might be the perfect place for me to spend my golden years, I’d love to meet you.
Looking forward to our future together,
With love,
Daisy

Pete is another dog that was minutes away from euthanasia in a California shelter. We were told he was a pug mix, but we would call him an English Bulldog mix. We agree there is probably some pug in there, but he looks like a bulldog and acts like one! Pete weighs about 40 lbs. We also are not sure of his age, but will know more after he sees the vet. He is probably around 5 yrs old.
Age: 5 Years Sex: Male Breed: English Bulldog-Pug Mix (best guess)

8 year old Elsa has a heart of gold, but her physical heart is not doing so great. We have been trying to manage her on medications but she is not responsive to them, so now we are working on getting her a pacemaker, which will allow her to live a long and healthy life. This is a very expensive surgery but it will give her a great quality of life for many years to come. Please consider donating to her care for this upcoming surgery on our donation page. Thank you!
