Lucy is an amazing pup! In the time since her flight from Mexico she has changed from shy and cautious to happy and friendly with a sprinkle of puppy mischief. Her sad eyes and happy puppy charm will melt even the iciest of hearts.
Lucy is definitely in her puppy stage and needs extra monitoring. She is not fully potty trained but does her business well outside. Frequent walks or an easy-access backyard and attentive owner are mandatory until she gets better potty trained.
We are not sure what percent Pug she is but she’s most likely a mix of Pug, Beagle, mutt, and bed hog. She currently has two Pug friends and two Beagle friends she lives with and is keeping them all on their toes and zooming around the backyard. Her energy level is set to “puppy” during the day but she is an amazing sleeper both during nap time and bedtime. She happily sleeps through the night either in a crate or in a bed though she is definitely a highly skilled 10lb bed hog who likes being warm. Lucy plays very well with other dogs and has shown no aggression towards food, toys, or attention and she rides great and loves car rides. She would probably prefer to have a dog buddy to play with or a super attentive parent.
Lucy is not a loud dog. We’ve heard her bark when startled, when not getting enough attention while playing with other dogs or for a couple minutes when being put in her crate. Other than that she is a quiet girl. She loves playing fetch and scattering rawhide chew toys and stuffed toys to every corner of the house. She has not yet learned what is a toy and what is not, so she is eager to help give you a reason to buy new slippers, socks, dirty clothes, or anything you leave within a puppy hop from her level. LOTS of toys and chews make Lucy a happy puppy.
To summarize, Lucy is an incredibly happy and playful pug’ish puppy who will repay attention, caring, and patience with endless amount of puppy licks, snuggles, joy, and love to her new adopted parents.

Meet Chocoflan — the sweetest little companion you could ask for! This adorable pug mix is estimated to be around 1–2 years old, and he’s the perfect mix of playful, affectionate, and cuddly. Chocoflan is healthy, happy, active, and absolutely loves being around people. Everyone who meets him falls in love with his soft fur, soulful eyes, and gentle personality.
We discovered Chocoflan has something called Pulled Tail syndrome. Sometime in the past, his tail was yanked or got caught in something. This caused damage to the nerves in his tail which control his feelings of going potty. So what does that mean for Chocoflan? Chocoflan does go outside and pee and poop normally at times, but he also leaks urine and sometimes poops in his sleep. He wears a belly band, which keeps things clean for his urinary issues.
Chocoflan is looking for an adopter that knows how to manage incontinence in a dog and will be patient with him. Chocoflan is NOT paralyzed and has full use of his legs. This injury only affected his tail.
Chocoflan has had a mixed reaction with other dogs. He lives with a male and female dog and has done wonderful with the female, but he has had trouble getting along with the male dog and also other males outside the home. He would be fine as an only dog, but one female dog in the home would probably work just fine also.
Chocoflan is truly an amazing dog with so much love to give. He’s affectionate, social, adaptable, and happiest when he’s close to his people. He’s looking for a patient, loving family who will adore him for the wonderful little dog he is. In return, he’ll give endless love, cuddles, and companionship.
We know there are plenty of people who love to take on the special needs dogs and we are hoping someone out there will want to give Chocoflan a home! If you have questions please reach out to us!

Bowie came to us from Mexico. He has the looks, the personality and the brains, making him the perfect package!
Bowie loves people and other dogs, he would love to have an energetic companion in the home or a chance to meet up with dog friends frequently. He is not reactive at all and thinks everyone wants to be his new best friend.
Bowie lived on the streets of Mexico before coming here, so he has lots to learn but he is wanting to please you and happy to do anything for a snack! Bowie loves toys so an ample toy chest is a must. Bowie can be a little mouthy but he is easy to redirect, his potty training is going well also.
If you are looking for a adventurous friend that also has all the good qualities of a pug, then Bowie will be your perfect match!

Are you someone who is always on the go....hiking, running and adventure seeking? Do you need a companion to tag along? Or do you have medium to large dogs that like to run and play with a fenced yard or property? Have you always wanted a pug but needed one that could be active and breathe normally?
Well we have just the guy for you!
Avaric is a pug mix but he is over 50% pug so he has lots of good pug qualities. The big difference is he is an athlete! He is tall, slender and very athletic and he has a nice snout so his breathing is "normal"
Avaric came to us from Pug Nation Los Angeles. he was originally found stray completely emaciated from starvation. Pug Nation did the work of getting him healthy and now you would never know.
Avaric is smart and learns quickly. The main thing he needs is an outlet for his energy! He is not reactive at all and very friendly to all people and other dogs. He is well mannered in public and he is good on a leash.
Avaric is a mouthy boy, so he will need some fine tuning. He loves to chew and can chew things he shouldn't (he is still a baby boy!) making sure he has mental and physical stimulation and some basic training will improve this quickly!
Can you help us find the perfect home for Avaric? He is ready for the fun to start!

9lb June came to us from Mexico and she could not be cuter! With her small body, big tongue and sweet personality, she will make someone very lucky! We are not sure of her age, but she is probably around 7 years old. She came to us with Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichia, two tickborne illnesses which we are treating her for. Then she can have a much needed dental and be ready for adoption.

8 year old Mabel found herself at a local shelter. This sweet girl has been suffering from luxating patellas for some time and will be in need of surgery on her knees. She also has a pretty bad mouth and will need a dental. Despite all of this, she is surprisingly active and seems to just be happy to have someone to care about her.

Through one of our rescue partners, we were told about three pugs in Tijuana, Mexico that needed rescuing. We are currently fundraising to help secure much needed vet care, boarding, and transportation for these girls who we are lovingly calling "The TJ Three". Your donation means we can get them the care they deserve.
Meet the TJ Three: Angela, Gordita, and Athena.
Angela is a sweet pug mix that was found near death due to a combination of tick-borne diseases she contracted (Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichia) and living on the streets and starving. She had almost no platelets in her blood and her red blood cell count was also very low. She is currently receiving treatment and once she is strong enough, will make her way up to us to continue her healing.
Gordita is a young pug and appears to be the healthiest of the three. She was surrendered by her owner and will be making her way up to us soon.
Last but not least, Athena was found in the dirt with both eyes ulcerated and in a lot of pain. She was extremely underweight and also suffered from tick-borne diseases. She has been recovering in a foster home in Tijuana and thankfully should be able to make her way to us soon to continue her medical treatment.
We cannot help these girls without the kindness of our pug and rescue community. To donate to their care and safe journey to us, please click on the donate button. Thank you for being their champion!
