Introducing Pugsley (left) and Wednesday (right). They are 9 weeks old and so freaking cute. Pugsley is a little chill and shy. Wednesday is quite a wild girl with lots to do!!

Puppies are so much fun, but come with a lot of responsibilities. We will only consider applicants that are not away from home more than 4 hours a day.
We will be asking for a $300 spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption donation. You will be required to sign a contract that states you will have the dog altered by 9 months old. Once this is done and you send us the spay/neuter certificate, we will refund the $300 deposit.

We know that there will be a lot of interest in these two...please be patient as we review all the submitted applications. We will notify everyone once a decision has been made.

Age: Approx 9 weeks  Sex: Pugsley (male), Wednesday (female) Breed: Pug  Adoption Donation: $1000 + $300 refundable spay/neuter deposit. Not a bonded pair. Will be adopted separately

Pugsley and Wednesday (Puppies)

Frodo is a sweet and snuggly 2-year-old Chiweenie/Pug mix (best guess—no DNA test yet!) looking for his forever family. At first, he can be a little timid when meeting new people, but once he feels safe, his playful and loving personality shines through.

In his foster home, Frodo has been living happily with other dogs, cats, and an older child. While he prefers not to interact with kids (he’ll usually just keep his distance and hide when they’re around), he has never shown any signs of aggression. Because of this, Frodo would do best in a calm home with no children, or with kids who understand how to give him space while he settles in.

Frodo LOVES other dogs and would thrive with a confident, playful canine buddy to show him the ropes—and to join him in a fun game of Chase. He enjoys snuggling with his people, playing with toys, and going for walks (he’s great on leash!). He’s also a polite passenger on car rides and has been doing wonderfully with his potty training—no accidents indoors.

If you’re looking for a loyal little sidekick who just needs a bit of patience at first, Frodo may be your perfect match. With another playful dog friend and a family who will give him love and understanding, this sweet boy will blossom into the best companion.

12 year old Layla came to PPR when her elderly owner could no longer care for her. Layla had not been to the vet and we found that she had just about every neglect-related ailment a dog can have. She has been to our wonderful vet for a major fix up and is already feeling like a new girl!

Layla has transformed to a lively active senior, watching all the activities in her foster home and exploring the yard. She ignores the other dogs and mainly focuses on her people. We expect she would ignore cats as well.

Layla attaches quickly and fiercely to her person and is a sweet, cuddly girl who will thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time, although she is fine on her own for a couple of hours. She is perfectly house trained and sleeps quietly, wagging wildly when she sees you in the morning.

Layla is deaf and will need daily eye drops which she doesn’t mind a bit. If you’re ready for a lovely, goofy lady in your life, Layla is ready to find her loving retirement home.

Hazel is a pint-sized bundle of love with a heart as big as her soulful eyes! This sweet little chug mix has the perfect blend of pug charm and chihuahua sass. She loves snuggling on the couch just as much as she enjoys short walks and exploring the yard.

Hazel is gentle, affectionate and easy to please. She gets along well with other pets, making her a great fit for just about any loving home. She’s house-trained, crate-comfortable and quick to bond with her people. Don’t be surprised if she becomes your little shadow!

Hazel came to us after a rough start, but she hasn’t let that dim her spirit. She’s ready to start her next chapter with someone who will love her forever.

If you’re looking for a best friend with a wiggly tail and a warm heart, Hazel is your girl

🌸 Meet Coco: From Field Mama to Couch Queen 🐾

Found alone in a field with her newborn puppies, Coco has already lived a whole lifetime in her short years but now she’s ready to start her own story. This sweet pug mix has retired from motherhood and is embracing the finer things in life: A tasty lamb ear to savor. A treat-stuffed toy to nudge around A cozy lap (or bed!) to curl up in!

Coco is house and crate trained. She has wonderful house manners. Coco has done great with small dogs, but she does not seem to like large dogs. She also has had mixed responses to cats, so best to be a cat free home. Coco loves her person, she is an energetic athletic girl that can jump very high! She also is perfectly happy to cuddle up with you.

Ready to give this devoted mama the soft life she deserves? Come meet Coco. Her heart’s already packed for her forever home. 🐶💕

Coco

In early July we welcomed a pug mix mama and her litter of puppies. They were found abandoned in a field and have all come such a long way since then. Raspberry is one of Coco's litter and is  looking for loving, committed home. Her father was described as a "small black dog." Her DNA results are in (see in photos).

A few things to consider before applying for Raspberry:

  • A puppy adoption contract is required and includes a mandatory spay/neuter agreement and a refundable spay/neuter deposit of $300 in addition to the adoption donation (This deposit is returned to you once proof of spay or neuter is submitted by 9 months of age)
  • Young puppies require a lot of time, attention, and training. We require that these puppies are not left alone for more than 4 hours per day. Please only apply if you are fully prepared for the responsibility of raising a puppy.
  • While a fenced yard is not required, access to outdoor space is strongly preferred. Potty training is much easier with a yard or very easy access to the outdoors.

Raspberry

Hello, my name is Nona.
I am an 8-year-old pug but I look and act much younger. I live with my two foster brothers (also pugs) and we all get along great! The 2 year old foster brother and I run and chase each other. We all sit in the sun together. And we sleep in the same kennel at night. I do not like being in the
kennel alone and will let you know with my whining and barking but with the boys I am
fine. There is a cat in the house and I have done fine with her.

When I came to my foster home, I did not know how to potty outside. But I am working
on that, and I am proud. I just need someone to pay attention to my needs. I like you to stay
outside with me a bit while I sniff and sniff for the right spot. I walk on a leash, but
because of my sometimes-wobbly legs, I wear out quickly. So, short walks are the
ticket.

I have been told I am sweet, and I think it is true, I do like people and want to be with
them and give them kisses. I am very willing to sleep with you in your bed, but if you
have another pup for me to sleep with in a kennel, or just a soft dog bed, I can adjust.

I was used for breeding, but I have been spayed, had all my bad teeth removed and had my airway done so I can breathe better. My back legs are not as strong as they should be. We don't know if I hurt myself in the past or if this is a normal pug thing. For now I get around just fine, I can do one step or two, but I can't do a lot of steps and I can't jump up on the furniture.

I look forward to my new home. Won’t you take me home for some pug loving?

Fiona

Fiona came to us from the streets of Tijuana hoping to find a home in Oregon. We are not sure what kind of life Fiona had before, but her love of humans is unmatched. No one is a stranger to Fiona, she is ready to give kisses and hugs to whoever she meets!

When she is not out being social, she is perfectly content to be at home with you. She loves to snuggle and if you sit on the couch Fiona will be right there with you. She likes patrolling her backyard keeping you safe from squirrels and snacking on her foster mom's berries. She also enjoys playing with her toys and giving them a good shake!

Fiona's is mostly blind, but she can see movement. . She is missing one eye and the other has dry eye which she will need to take daily drops for.
Despite being blind, Fiona maps out her environment quickly and has learned to use stairs to get on the couch and bed! Other than that Fiona is very healthy and had a full makeover when she got here. Spay, dental, eye removal!

Fiona is not a fan of other dogs, and she is a Frenchie, so she has the fight first ask questions later attitude! She will need to be the only pet in the house, but she is easily managed when going for walks since she can't see well!

If you love Frenchies and would like to give a very special senior girl a home, Fiona will be a wonderful addition!

Abby

Abby is a smart, sassy, and incredibly cute pug mix who’s ready to find her perfect match. She’s fully potty-trained, loves her toys more than anything, and forms deep bonds with her people once she feels safe.

She gets along well with cats and small dogs, especially respectful seniors. Young, playful dogs can be a hit too—she enjoys a good round of roughhousing! But she’s uncomfortable around large dogs and needs a home without them. Abby can be cautious with new people, so slow introductions and a calm environment are key to helping her feel at ease.

Abby is very active and needs daily exercise to stay balanced. Skipping a walk isn’t an option for this high-energy girl! On leash, she can be reactive to people and other dogs, but with consistency and the right handler, her progress has been great and it’s totally manageable.

At home, she can be a bit barky, especially if there’s noise or activity outside. Her love of toys is unmatched. She proudly carries them from room to room and is a master toy destroyer, so tough toys are a must.

Abby’s ideal home:
  • Adults only (no young kids)
  • Calm, low-traffic environment (not many visitors)
  • Either no other pets or small, respectful ones (no large dogs)
  • Someone experienced and willing to work on leash reactivity
  • A home that can provide daily exercise and mental stimulation
  • Someone who doesn’t mind a few barks—and toys everywhere!

Abby won’t be the right fit for every home, but with the right person, she’ll be a loving, loyal, and entertaining companion.

Stella

Meet Stella the eight year old bulldog, with a lot of love and loyalty for her human companions.

Her favorite things include; strolls around the neighborhood (0.75-1.0 miles), bully sticks, sunbathing, fruit, snuggling on the couch, following you around the house and welcoming you home.

As the chief rat catcher of our house, she demonstrates a need for a home free of cats and smaller pets. She has been to doggy daycare once and had a play date with an older German Shepherd with success. She is willing to meet other large animals in an off leash environment to see if they get along, she can be a little frisky on a leash.

During walks around the neighborhood, she requires some redirection to stay by your side. She would do well in a household that has experience with bulldogs or other large breeds to hone in her leash skills.

She is totally comfortable staying home alone for several hours and is 100% potty trained. She sleeps in her dog bed at night and is not an early riser.

Stella would prefer a home with children who are old enough to respect her boundaries and be kind and gentle with her.

She currently is on an over-the-counter diet for skin and stomach sensitivity, a twice daily anti-inflammatory and every six week injection for skin health.

Stella is truly a one in 1 million beautiful big girl! She has been waiting patiently for her forever home and looks forward to meeting you soon.
