Hi! I am a five year old Betty and I came here from Mexico. I have not had the name Betty for long so I am still learning it, along with English.

I am sweet and loving with everyone I meet. I am adjusting to my new life in Oregon and becoming more playful and interactive every day.

I get along great with my two foster brothers, Cats I don't know, but I would probably do just fine. I also have not been around kids, but I think I would do just fine with older children, but I might be a bit shy at first.

I am a good eater and I have learned to sit for treats...Yum!!!! I love going on walks and I am doing great on a leash. My moms are very cautious when they open the front door as I have a tendency to dart out and greet the awaiting world with gusto. I am very fast when I want to be.

I love to sit on laps, on the couch and in assorted dog beds as well as the human bed. I am not very happy about going in a kennel so I require a bit of coaxing. My moms found out the hard way, it is important to keep garbage locked away when I am left unattended...us Mexico street dogs are masters of getting in the garbage!

I am looking forward to my forever home and will steal your heart in a flash!

Charlie is an amazing little lady who’s very smart. We have made so much progress with her training in two short weeks. She can sit and stay when we enter in and out a doorway with a high success rate without redirection. She listens more intentionally and responds when asked to come in from chasing the squirrels, and breaking from a rough play with her foster brother.

Charlie is an active girl who occasionally needs reminders when it’s time to settle down. She plays very hard — rough and loud — especially with other dogs. Don’t be alarmed; that’s just her way of communicating. She’s also quite vocal when playing fetch with her humans. We are still working on stranger encounters and being less shy when we interact. Settling in on new routines that take time away from her previous constant busy nature.

A few things to keep in mind if you have other pets: Charlie sometimes needs gentle guidance on when to take breaks during rough play. She also prefers not to share her “special” toys — like balls and chewy bones — with other dogs. She’ll make it clear when she wants others to back off. So if you’re a one-dog household, she’s perfect. If you’re a multi-dog home, she’s still perfect — just with a little direction and supervision.

We’ve watched her lay back and relax. Favorites include cuddling on the coach, taking a nap or watching tv with her favorite toys. You will get much joy from this little companion as she is very silly in nature and constantly makes her foster family laugh. All and all a wonderful pet for any home who wants to spoil this girl, who will gladly return the favor.

8 month old Phoebe is a perfect pug girl! A bit shy at first meeting, it does not take her long to come around and be your best friend.
She has done great with other dogs and would probably appreciate a canine companion, although she would also be fine as your one and only.

Phoebe does great with her potty training as long as kept on a schedule. We have figured out she does not really potty on leash and that is why her original home was having issues potty training her. A fenced yard and a good schedule will make this a non issue!

Phoebe loves to play with toys and she would do good with respectful older kids. She seems to shy away from kids that are too energetic, they make her a bit nervous.

Phoebe does enjoy her people with her and she is still young and learning. She has not had a lot of socialization, so it will be important to introduce her to new things slowly.

Phoebe is a wonderful puppy and someone will be so lucky to welcome her into their home!

Peter Pugsly is living proof that the best things come in small, wiggly packages. At just 1.5 years old and 13 pounds, this pint-sized powerhouse is overflowing with personality...part goofball, part snugglebug, and 100% unforgettable!

Peter’s journey hasn’t been the easiest. He was found as a stray in California and taken to the shelter. When he first arrived it was clear something was a little… unique about him. He had severe luxating patellas (dislocated kneecaps) that required double knee surgery just to walk comfortably. Pug Nation Los Angeles did all the heavy lifting and got Peter all fixed up! He also has a slightly curved spine, which can’t be corrected surgically. He has fully healed from his surgery, but because of his spine, Peter gets around with a bouncy, wobbly twist in his stride like he just drank a 6pack of beer😂 And honestly? It just makes him that much more endearing. He doesn’t know he’s any different, and he certainly doesn’t let it slow him down!

Peter thinks he is a normal dog and in his mind he can do anything! To keep him safe he will need to be in a one level home. He can master getting up one small step and jumping from a low height. He does best on a carpeted surface, or area rugs. He can move around on wood floors, but he slips and slides and it does scare him a bit. We have been teaching him to use a ramp and he seems to be catching on!

He’s a master of zoomies, a social butterfly, and loves meeting new friends wherever he goes. He loves his people and wants nothing more than to be close to you.

He is freshening up on his potty training skills, but he will have that down in no time. He would do best with someone that could be home with him more than not. He is crate trained, but not a fan!

In an ideal world, Peter would be adopted by someone who could afford to get physical therapy to help him strengthen his legs. Peter is a little dream dog that will have you wrapped around his paw before you even know it!

Brook is a 1 year old Boston Terrier with all the fun, playful energy you’d expect! She loves toys of all kinds, especially balls, She’s super smart and trainable, and with the right direction could easily become a little trick star.

At home, Brook is confident, cuddly, and sleeps soundly through the night (usually choosing to snooze in her crate with the door open). She seems to find comfort in having her own space but is also cuddly and people-oriented. She is perfectly potty trained!

Outside the home, Brook is still adjusting to the big, unpredictable world. New people, sounds, and situations can make her nervous, so she’ll need a patient, experienced adopter who can help her build confidence through positive training and structure. She’s especially wary of strangers and other dogs while on leash, but her progress so far shows she learns quickly when she feels safe.

Brook has not been socialized with other dogs and while she has had some successful meetups, for now she will need to be adopted to a home without other dogs and someone who is willing to do slow introductions to dogs and work with her to help her learn that dog friends are awesome!

Brook is also available as a foster to adopt in the Portland Metro area!

We get asked all the time what Lara Croft is mixed with and we are not sure, but we can say whatever it is, she is adorable! We just love her cute little monkey face!
Lara came from a hoarding house in California that was full of chugs. We do think she has some Chihuahua mixed in there, but our other guess is Min Pin!

Lara is a petite 4 yr old girl at only 13 lbs. She is very smart and despite her scary past, she learns to adjust quickly to things around her. She loves people more than anything and will immediately crawl up into your lap if you are sitting down. In fact, we honestly think this girl would cuddle with you 24/7 if you let her! Her other favorite thing is going for walks. This was once terrifying to her, but now she will dance with happiness when her leash comes out. She loves to stop and sniff EVERYTHING though, so be prepared for a lot of stopping!

Lara has done great with potty training, but needs to be kept on a schedule so someone that is home more than not would be best. She will not go potty when on leash however, so she will need a fenced yard. She currently lives with dogs and cats and lives in harmony with both. She will need dogs that are not overzealous and pushy about being in her space.

Lara can still be nervous and there are situations that are still scary to her. Fast movements or loud noises, raised voices, and people standing over her. She will do best in a quiet home that can be mindful and patient with her as she continues to learn the world is not that bad.

Lara does well in the car and will be a great companion for someone!

Fiona

Fiona came to us from the streets of Tijuana hoping to find a home in Oregon. We are not sure what kind of life Fiona had before, but her love of humans is unmatched. No one is a stranger to Fiona, she is ready to give kisses and hugs to whoever she meets!

When she is not out being social, she is perfectly content to be at home with you. She loves to snuggle and if you sit on the couch Fiona will be right there with you. She likes patrolling her backyard keeping you safe from squirrels and snacking on her foster mom's berries. She also enjoys playing with her toys and giving them a good shake!

Fiona's is mostly blind, but she can see movement. . She is missing one eye and the other has dry eye which she will need to take daily drops for. Despite being blind, Fiona maps out her environment quickly and has learned to use stairs to get on the couch and bed! Other than that Fiona is very healthy and had a full makeover when she got here. Spay, dental, eye removal!

Fiona is a sassy little Frenchie who knows what she wants—and that’s YOU, all to herself! She needs to be your one and only pet (because why share the spotlight?). Don’t worry though, her limited vision makes her easy to handle on walks, and she’s more interested in being by your side than anything else.

If you love Frenchies and would like to give a very special senior girl a home, Fiona will be a wonderful addition!
