Meet the dogs available for adoption and Our New Arrivals!

Pacific Pug Rescue requires the following in order to be approved to adopt:

Applicant must be 21+ years old and allow for an in-person or virtual home check
As applicable, landlord confirmation that dogs are allowed in the home.
As applicable, veterinary confirmation that any current dogs in the home are spayed/neutered and any current pets are up-to-date on veterinary care including vaccinations, unless a medical exception is provided by the veterinarian.
Applicant is able to pick-up the dog within the Portland Metro Area within a week if approved to adopt.
Out-of-area adopters, please contact us to verify the dog you are interested in would be able to travel long distances either by car or airplane prior to applying.

Available dogs

Gordo is a sweet, goofy, happy boy. Nothing can keep this boy down. Despite being found as a stray and taken to a shelter, he is still a lovable snuggly pug.

Gordo has hind end weakness that has progressed since coming to us. We have started letting him use a wheelchair, which he has taken to quickly. He can still get around on his own for now and he loves to run and play with other dogs large or small. He loves toys and his chewies.

Gordo loves to give kisses and his head tilt combined with his puppy dog eyes will make you melt. If you are in the market for a special needs pug, Gordo would make a wonderful addition!

If you are looking for a pug with a whole lot of personality, Bella is your girl! 9-year old Bella seems to be made up of all the things people list as ideal when they are looking for a new canine companion. She is great in the car, wonderful on leash, playful with other dogs and people, cuddly, house-trained, has energy but also loves to be with you on the couch, is fine being left alone for a few hours, and is full of sass. She's also got the cutest little underbite and thankfully even after a dental she got to keep most of her award-winning underbite teeth.

Bella is diabetic and does require insulin shots twice a day and a prescription diet. She doesn't mind the insulin shots at all. Her diabetes is no big deal at all as long as she is kept on a routine feeding and insulin schedule. We promise you she's worth it!

Bella sometimes can be vocal with new people but she warms up within minutes once she knows you mean her well. She will be demanding cuddles and sitting in your lap in no time. She is plenty playful and likes other dogs that don't mind her vocal play style. Also, we were told she loves to swim, so get those bathing suits ready!

We saved Chimuela from a Central California shelter, hours before she was set to be euthanized. She was found as a stray and xrays revealed significant issues with both of her hips. She just had FHO surgery to fix one side and the vet feels she does not need the other side done for now, but this may need to be addressed at a later time.

She gets around great and will be feeling so much better once completely healed.

Chimuela really loves her person and gets attached quickly, she loves to cuddle with you. She also really loves playmates that are about her size. She loves to wrestle and chase and would love her new home to have a dog that would like to play with her. She is great with older dogs too and very respectful.

Chimuela does fine in the home when left alone, but she is still working on her potty training skills, so she will need someone who can let her out frequently and get her on a good schedule.

Chimuela is a wonderful dog, she has the perfect amount of playful energy and cuddle time. She does great in the car and will make someone a wonderful companion!

Hi, I’m Kiki — a petite, adorable girl currently stealing hearts in Oregon! 💕

My past is a bit of a mystery, as I was found as a stray in Eastern Oregon, but what is clear is how wonderful I am now.

I’m healthy, fully potty trained, crate trained, and pretty smart if I do say so myself. I adore kids, am an expert-level cuddler, and love settling in close with my people.

I do well living with other animals. Cats are fine by me as long as they respect my space, and I currently live peacefully with another pug. I prefer calm, easygoing dog friends — sometimes I like to act tough, but it’s mostly just for show.

Now for my one challenge: I experience leash frustration. When I see other dogs while I’m on leash, I can get overwhelmed and react — even though off-leash, like in a yard, I’d be totally fine meeting them. It’s a common issue and something I’m already being honest about so I can find the right match.

Because of this, I’d thrive best in a home with a fenced yard where I don’t have to rely on walks for potty breaks. I’m not the kind of girl who wants to go everywhere or be super social — that kind of lifestyle causes me stress. I still enjoy walks, especially in quiet areas, or outings like Sniffspot where I can relax and explore without surprises. A home with property or a calm neighborhood would be a dream! Working with a trainer would also be a wonderful way to help me continue building confidence.

If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who just wants a peaceful life, soft blankets, and lots of cuddles, I might be your perfect match.

Kash is a wonderful frenchie, who unfortunately was facing euthanasia due to his ear and allergy issues. Luckily a neighbor stepped in to get him the care he needed and now he is ready to find his new home!

Kash's issues are typical for the Frenchie Breed. He is on a special allergy diet to help keep his ear issues in check and he gets a cytopoint injection. Other than that, he is very healthy!

Kash is a very sweet Frenchie...he loves Kids, does fine with other dogs and has a medium energy level. He has lived with a bossy foster sister and has allowed her to tell him what to do with no issues.

We were told he does love to chase cats, so it is probably best he lives in a home without cats. Kash is crate trained, does great in the car and is potty trained!!!! You can't ask for more than that!

Meet Charlie, the sweetest little lady with a big personality and an even bigger heart! 💛

In just two short weeks, she’s made amazing progress with her training. She can sit and stay at doorways like a pro, listens when called in from squirrel-chasing missions, and can break away from rough play with her foster brother when asked. This girl is smart and eager to please!

Charlie is an energetic, playful pup who sometimes needs a gentle reminder when it’s time to settle — but she’s learning fast. Her play style with other dogs is rough, loud, and super silly. Don’t be alarmed… that’s just Charlie being Charlie! She’s also quite the chatterbox during fetch. We’re still helping her gain confidence with strangers and adjust to new routines, but she’s already showing how far she can go with patience and love.

If you have other pets, here’s a quick heads-up:
🐾 Charlie may need reminders to take breaks during high-energy play.
🐾 She likes to keep her “special” toys — balls and chewy bones — all to herself.
🐾She’ll politely (well… Charlie-style politely!) let the other dogs know when she needs space.

She’s a dream in a one-dog home, and totally workable in a multi-dog home with a little supervision.

When she’s done being the life of the party, Charlie loves to relax. Her favorite activities include couch cuddles, TV time, and napping with her toys close by. She’s goofy, affectionate, and brings endless laughter to her foster family.

Meet Phoebe — tiny, shy, and secretly a total cuddle bug!

Phoebe might play it cool when you first meet her, but don’t be fooled… it only takes a little love (and maybe a treat or two) for her to decide you’re her new favorite human!

She’s a social butterfly in training and does great with other dogs. She’d love a furry friend to hang with, but she’s also totally okay being your one-and-only spoiled princess. 👑

Potty training? She’s basically got it down! As long as she’s on a schedule and has a fenced yard, she’s golden. (She just thinks leashes are for going on adventures — NOT for potty breaks. We don’t judge.)

Phoebe LOVES toys and playtime! She would do well with older, respectful kiddos who understand she’s still building her confidence.

She’s young, eager to learn, and ready for a new family!. Slow introductions and gentle encouragement will help her become the confident queen she’s meant to be.

Peter Pugsly is living proof that the best things come in small, wiggly packages. At just 1.5 years old and 13 pounds, this pint-sized powerhouse is overflowing with personality...part goofball, part snugglebug, and 100% unforgettable!

Peter’s journey hasn’t been the easiest. He was found as a stray in California and taken to the shelter. When he first arrived it was clear something was a little… unique about him. He had severe luxating patellas (dislocated kneecaps) that required double knee surgery just to walk comfortably. Pug Nation Los Angeles did all the heavy lifting and got Peter all fixed up! He also has a slightly curved spine, which can’t be corrected surgically. He has fully healed from his surgery, but because of his spine, Peter gets around with a bouncy, wobbly twist in his stride like he just drank a 6pack of beer😂 And honestly? It just makes him that much more endearing. He doesn’t know he’s any different, and he certainly doesn’t let it slow him down!

Peter thinks he is a normal dog and in his mind he can do anything! To keep him safe he will need to be in a one level home. He can master getting up one small step and jumping from a low height. He does best on a carpeted surface, or area rugs. He can move around on wood floors, but he slips and slides and it does scare him a bit. We have been teaching him to use a ramp and he seems to be catching on!

He’s a master of zoomies, a social butterfly, and loves meeting new friends wherever he goes. He loves his people and wants nothing more than to be close to you.

He is freshening up on his potty training skills, but he will have that down in no time. He would do best with someone that could be home with him more than not. He is crate trained, but not a fan!

In an ideal world, Peter would be adopted by someone who could afford to get physical therapy to help him strengthen his legs. Peter is a little dream dog that will have you wrapped around his paw before you even know it!

We get asked all the time what Lara Croft is mixed with and we are not sure, but we can say whatever it is, she is adorable! We just love her cute little monkey face!
Lara came from a hoarding house in California that was full of chugs. We do think she has some Chihuahua mixed in there, but our other guess is Min Pin!

Lara is a petite 4 yr old girl at only 13 lbs. She is very smart and despite her scary past, she learns to adjust quickly to things around her. She loves people more than anything and will immediately crawl up into your lap if you are sitting down. In fact, we honestly think this girl would cuddle with you 24/7 if you let her! Her other favorite thing is going for walks. This was once terrifying to her, but now she will dance with happiness when her leash comes out. She loves to stop and sniff EVERYTHING though, so be prepared for a lot of stopping!

Lara has done great with potty training, but needs to be kept on a schedule so someone that is home more than not would be best. She will not go potty when on leash however, so she will need a fenced yard. She currently lives with dogs and cats and lives in harmony with both. She will need dogs that are not overzealous and pushy about being in her space.

Lara can still be nervous and there are situations that are still scary to her. Fast movements or loud noises, raised voices, and people standing over her. She will do best in a quiet home that can be mindful and patient with her as she continues to learn the world is not that bad.

Lara does well in the car and will be a great companion for someone!

Elsa has been used for breeding way too many times and she just had a litter. She has been suffering with a UTI and her teeth are just awful. She was being given away free on Craigslist. She is on the mend and will soon be ready to be spoiled the way she should have always been.
