Available dogs

Coming in at 59% pug and only 28% Chihuahua you might think the pug genes would be dominant...but the Chi is definitely the dominant breed with this fine gentleman! The Chi is Strong!!!

Polo is a 3 year old boy that originally came from Mexico. He was surrendered recently for not getting along with another dog in the home. Polo actually really likes other dogs and is very social with them. Polo bonds very closely with his owner and the trouble comes when he is required to share that love, so being your one and only may suit him best. Although if you have some basic dog handling skills and can give Polo boundaries he could live harmoniously with another dog. Either way, Polo does like meeting other dogs and does great doing so.

Polo is on the more anxious side...again thank the Chihuahua in him! He would do best in an active home that will take him for walks and help him burn some of his energy. Being with you is Polo's main goal in life, if you are with him, he is happy!

Polo is potty trained and can use a doggy door. He also is crate trained and does fine in the crate when left alone. Polo does like to communicate through "talking" whether that be a bark, whine or grumble. He is very smart and VERY food motivated so keeping him busy and learning will make him a happy boy.

If you love a Chug, but tend to favor and understand the Chihuahua breed, this boy will be a perfect match for you.

Joey is a perfect senior pug that is still very active and seems much younger than his age. He still enjoys walks and he really loves to chase a ball so a fenced yard where he can safely play would be best.

Joey gets along with calm dogs and he would probably enjoy a companion, but a dog on the calmer side would be best for him. People are his real love and he would love an owner who is around more than not. He loves sleeping in bed with you and just wants to be joined at the hip!

If you have room in your life for an easy keeper that could not be sweeter, come meet Joey!

Jobo came from Mexico with a group of pugs in a woeful state. After being neutered, teeth fixed, dewormed, nose fixed, and fed properly, Jobos personality is finally starting to show. He is 100% a chill and happy loveable fella who wants nothing but to be next to his favorite person. Jobo is super easy going, has no aggression with food or other dogs and even does really well in a crate…after a minute or two of protest. Of course, he prefers hogging a bed, laying on your lap, and helping cleanup in the kitchen over crate time but is good either way.

His ribs are slowly disappearing now that it is not painful to eat and he happily accepts oversized meals good boy treats. Jobo has significant arthritis especially in his front legs and he’s on a daily anti-inflammatory. He will do best in a one level home where leisurely strolls and naps are the priority.  He is not a dog that wants to run and play nonstop. He is cool, calm, and collected and has only shown any anxiety when not able to be around his people.

In true pug form, Jobo loves food, snacks, laps, slow walks, cuddles, and more food and will be an amazing, low-drama companion to anyone needing a furry best friend.

Attention! Monchiez is a special needs dog, please take the time to research his condition and make sure you understand his needs before applying!

Monchiez spent his first 2 yrs as a breeding dog. We realized quickly after he arrived that he had something that was not quite right. Everytime after he would eat he would regurgitate his food and water. Testing has revealed that he has megaesophagus.
Luckily the treatment for this is quite simple...Monchiez will need to stay upright after eating for about 30 minutes. He loves to snuggle with you on the couch, so it has been very easy to manage this. There are also special chairs you can buy that keep him upright, but so far it seems this may not be necessary. This will be a lifelong issue and may require additional care at times.

Monchiez loves his person and his favorite thing to do is be with you. He is very calm for a young guy and is very easy going. He can get along very well with other animals in the house or be your one and only.

Monchiez is a normal pug in every other way and as long as you are able to put in a bit more extra time when feeding, he will be a wonderful addition to your home.

Yoda came to us from a Southern Oregon shelter after being found as a stray. He was most likely used for breeding then discarded when health issues came around.  His biggest issue is the large polyps blocking his ear canals. He needs major surgery to get his ears fixed with TECA (total ear canal abalation) surgery that will cost us over 15k. If you are able to donate to his extensive care, we'd appreciate it!

He is a very sweet and loving boy, who seems very grateful for his second chance.

At just 4 years old, Athena came to us from Tijuana, Mexico. Athena was found near death from starvation and tick disease along with both eyes ulcerated and we agreed to take her in. She spent several weeks being cared for in Tijuana where she built her strength up and arrived to Oregon feeling much better. She has been spayed and had one of the damaged eyes removed for her comfort. Despite all she has been through, she is a happy and well-adjusted girl. Athena has one more hurdle to work through: both of her knees are luxating and she will require specialty surgery to fix them. Once that is done we know she will be unstoppable!
