Gunner was taken to the shelter to be euthanized because he had diarrhea and was losing weight. Sadly his family didn't even take him to a vet to find out why.

We were happy to take in Gunner and see if we could get him more comfortable. Through ultrasounds, CT scans, and specialist vet visits, we have found that Gunner has some GI disease and also a large liver tumor that was thought to be inoperable. Thankfully, after consulting with even more specialists, the large liver tumor was removed!  Phew!  Gunner has recovered well from his  tumor removal, but still struggles with GI disease, which will require a lifetime of care and monitoring. We are committed to providing him ongoing treatment so he can do what pugs love most, eat well and be happy! He is feeling much better since we started a special diet and medication for his GI problems.

Gunner is such a happy dog. He loves his ball more than anything. One thing for sure is he has a lot of life left in him and he is taking advantage of this second chance at his life. Between Gunner's diagnostics, surgery, and ongoing treatment, his medical costs are quite a lot for our rescue, but we are grateful that we are able to give him more time and a good quality of life thanks to our supporters who donate to our seniors and medically complex dogs  in the forever foster program.

Donations to Gunner help us cover his special food, medications and specialist visits.
